There is no 'I' in 'Team'

Growing up playing sports, I was always taught - "There is no 'I' in 'team'." I wish they taught this more often in professional sports. While basketball teams are significantly smaller in the number of players than lacrosse teams, one must realize you still can't spell team with the letter 'i'.

Apparently, the Knicks aren't only struggling with spelling....

Despite Carmelo Anthony's 42 points in the Knicks fell to the Boston Celtics 96-93 on Tuesday night. The Knicks' loss put them down 0-2 in the first round playoff series.

Anthony's 28.5 points per game average did not stand a chance against Celtics forward Kevin Garnett. Garnett stole the ball from Knicks forward Jared Jefferies in the last 6 seconds and made the shot in addition to two free throws.

Back spasms left the also Knicks without power forward Amar'e Stoudemire for the entire second half. Stoudemire has scored an average 16 points per game in the 2011 playoff series.

The struggle to secure a win proved too difficult for the New York Knicks. Garnett and the Celtics stole the win - literally. It's easy to say this proves there truly is no 'I' in 'team'.

Flavor of the Week: Breast Milk.

It's the breast BEST new flavor on the menu!

The Westminster Health Protection Agency and Food Standard Agency discontinued sales of “Baby Gaga”, breast-milk-based ice cream. A heightened concern about the possible transmission of viruses caused by the treat caused officials to make this decision.

"Selling foodstuffs made from another person's bodily fluids can lead to viruses being passed on and in this case, potentially hepatitis," said Brian Connell, Westminster Council's cabinet member for business.

Members of the public and the Food Standards Agency brought the product to the attention of the Westminster Council. The council says they will conduct research to explore the safety of this new breed of dairy dessert.

Matt O’Connor created “Baby Gaga” to be sold at his frozen treat joint in London called, The Icecreamists. The dessert consists of breast milk, Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest. Presentation is key in the rapid sales of the zany ice cream.

“A costumed Baby Gaga waitress serves the ice cream in a martini glass filled with the breast milk ice cream mix. Liquid nitrogen is then poured into the glass through a syringe,” said an article from Daily Mail.

Despite price tag of $23 per scoop, the first batch of the breast-milk treat sold out quickly. The women who donated their breast milk were offered $24 per 10 ounces of milk.

"It wasn't intrusive at all to donate," said Victoria Hiley, a breast milk donor, "just a simple blood test. What could be more natural than fresh, free-range mother's milk in an ice cream?"

Women who endured a process similar to sperm and egg donors donated the breast milk used in the product. "If the ice cream is not safe, then these mothers pose a serious risk to their babies," said O’Connor.

"Baby Gaga" is just the latest in breast milk products that has caused a stir in the culinary world. New York chefs have experimented with cheese made from breast milk.

Last year, renowned chef, Daniel Angerer experimented with left over breast milk from his wife who was breastfeeding at the time. The milk had been frozen and stored away, but remained unused.

While, Angerer used his wife's breastmilk to create a variety of different cheeses there is also record of breastmilk being used in soap.

Heather Anderson, a vegan soapmaker, decided to use her leftover breastmilk in the production of milk-based soap. Anderson used her own breast milk as a subsitute for goat's milk in a soap recipe.

Currently, neither Angerer or Anderson continue to use breastmilk in their products. Once it has been cleared for public sale, breast milk ice cream may be the world's next prized dessert.

    Maybe not.

    Bi-winning?

Charlie Sheen has truly lost his marbles. In an interview with Good Morning America on Monday he said he doesn't believe he is bipolar. Mr. Sheen believes he is 'bi-winning'.

The only thing 45-year-old Sheen is winning is the judging eyes of America. Chain-smoking during a morning interview on national television? This can't be the best kind of publicity stunt.

Unfortunately, the Two and a Half Men star has fallen into the tragic trap of substance abuse. He is unwilling to accept treatment and is in severe denial of his addictions.

In late January, Sheen was hospitalized for illness due to drug abuse. It was also reported in January that Sheen spent $26,000 on prostitutes and cocaine. The actor has a history with drugs, booze, and porn stars. In 1998 he was fined over $2,000 and put on probation for two years following an incident involving substance abuse. He smashed his then girlfriend's face into the floor in his California home.

Sheen also checked into rehab in 1990 and admitted to an expensive taste for hookers in 1995.

There are many other documented cases of Sheen's volatile behavior and drug habits.

So do these recent destructive activities come as a surprise? Absolutely not. However, it is upsetting to watch a talented man fall to his demise.

    Speaking of hookers...

What about Sheen's girlfriends? That's right, plural.

Sheen currently lives with his two twin sons and his two 24-year-old girlfriends. One girlfriend is a graphic designer and the other a porn star. He calls his life with his 'goddesses' a polygamy story.

These women are Rachel Oberlin and Natalie Kenly. In December Oberlin was arrested on a DUI charge in Texas under her porn star name, Bree Olson.

Rumor has it, John Stamos may replace Sheen on the primetime television show, Two and a Half Men. However, Sheen combated these rumors saying Stamos would be a "tragic joke" as Sheen's replacement. In a radio interview on The Howard Stern Show he told Howard Stern 'people will revolt' if Stamos is cast on the show.

Chuck Lorre, one of the creators of Two and a Half Men, has come down hard on Sheen's actions. Sheen calls their relationship a "fake friendship" and claims he is the sole reason Lorre ever made any money from the show. The show is currently on hiatus.

The show's producer shot back at Sheen's recent actions at the close of a recent February episode:

Tell us how you really feel, Mr. Lorre.

Even Mr. Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, is resigning

There are some people who haven't given up hope on Charlie Sheen. Celebrities among the likings of Sean Penn and Mel Gibson have reached out to Sheen to offer him assistance along the road to recovery.

Sheen's latest interview with 20/20 will air tonight, at 10 p.m. on ABC.

    JWoww, Doctor of Love.

The Situation wrote a how-to-succeed book and Snooki wrote a novel. Now, MTV's favorite boobilicious Jersey Shore star is now an author. Jenni "JWOWW" Farley released her first book at the beginning of February. The book is titled, "The Rules According to JWOWW". It's a dating advice book.

Waiiiiiiiit. Did I just say JWOWW and dating advice in the same paragraph? Yes, I did.

What's Jwoww's favorite dating tip for readers? Don't ever settle.

Farley based the book off of her unsuccessful past relationships, which she believes have led her to find who she thinks may just be "Mr. Right". JWOWW's current man candy, Roger Matthews, is proving to be a major upgrade from her scumbag ex-boyfriend Tom.

On a recent Season 2 episode Jersey Shore fans watched a devastated JWOWW return to her house after Tom stole all of her belongings to spite her following a breakup. The valuables stolen including her watch and computer hard drive were both returned, however the contents on the hard drive were erased.

Her current beau, Roger, has turned her world full circle. The sweetheart, bodybuilding, juicehead spoiled her with a romantic Valentine's Day breakfast in bed from Dunkin' Donuts. Don't worry, he also gave her chocolate covered strawberries and a card. How sweet!

In this new work of literature, Jwoww has compiled stories of her flawed relationships of the past and uses "reality checks" to give positive dating advice to readers. Although JWOWW used many of her past relationships as a foundation for the book, she says the Jersey Shore cast played a major role in her inspiration to write the book. In a recent interview, she said the book was therapeutic to write. America's favorite guidette said it only took her a month to compose this masterpiece.

"The Rules According to JWOWW" sold out at her first book signing on the February 8 release date. Since then she has made appearances on Jay Leno, George Lopez Tonight, Kathie Lee and Hoda, as well as Showbiz Tonight on CNN.

Although she has gone on a recent hiatus from the book tour due to the death of her Grandma, the Jersey Shore star will continue to promote the book in weeks to come.

This is one accomplished gal. She is a Reality TV star, tanning lotion entrepreneur, the face of Ab Cuts, and even has an iPhone app. What's next for JWOWW? She says she would love to dabble in guest starring on television shows. She noted an appearance on Family Guy as her biggest wish. I also hear a spinoff is in the works for JWOWW and her BFF, Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi. MTV is calling the show, "Snooki and JWOWW vs. the World".

Time will only tell how far JWOWW's 15 minutes of fame will go.

This guy's really showing up the rest of the 20 somethings in the world.

Do you ever have those days when you're feeling really unproductive? You try so hard, but just can't seem to get that conjure up that little rush of motivation. Lazy Sunday.

Finally, when I decided to get in touch with reality (and academia) I packed up my books and headed to the library to get my work done.

I was feeling really ambitious so I logged onto The New York Times website only to find this headline:
"Bayne Wins Daytona 500 in 2nd Cup Start"

    Talk about feeling unproductive....

I'm not an avid Nascar fan by any means, but once I began to read the article it made me wish I picked up race car driving.

"With the win Bayne breaks Gordon's mark as the youngest winner in Daytona 500 history. Gordon was 26 when he won the 500 in 1997."

    Trevor Bayne...well he's 20. He's barely 20, his birthday was yesterday

Bayne beat out seasoned veterans of the race to claim today's title. He breezed by big racing names including Tony Stewart, Bobby Labonte, Mark Martin and Kurt Busch.

Imagine that. Guy can't even buy a beer or rent a car, but today he took home over $1 million will probably see a little  extra cash from what ever endorsement opportunities come his way.

Following this unbelievable feat Bayne may even decide not to compete for the Nationwide title.

I'm 20 years old and can't say I have a thing on this guy right now. Feeling a little unaccomplished, but perhaps next week I'll win a few extra bucks on NJ Lottery scratch off ticket.

    Who IS Esperanza Spalding?

Justin Bieber fans went crazy when they heard Esperanza Spalding's name as the winner of the 2011 Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

Following the recent release of Bieber's new film, Never Say Never, fans were in strong support of the young pop star. Bieber fans attacked Ms. Spalding's Wikipedia page with hateful words that suggested the rising jazz artist was not deserving of the award. They edited her page and changed her middle name to "Justin" at one point and soon after to "Quesadilla".

It seems as though the 26-year-old artist is not well known, she does have a few accomplishments under her belt. Spalding performed at the 2010 BET awards alongside big names like Patti LaBelle and Alicia Keys. The young star also appeared at the 2009 Noble Peace Prize Ceremony and Concert.

The Belieber fansite reports 16-year-old Bieber took a mature stance on the situation and tweeted his feelings:

"So I’m always honest with u guys and I’m finally leaving the #grammys so I can tweet. 2nite was a great night. I got to perform at the grammys with my mentor @usherraymondiv and I feel like we did u guys proud. As for the awards…of course I wanted to win. Its been & still is a dream to win a grammy. Was I upset…yes. But I was happy for her also. Someone said to me tonight its not your successes that define u but your failures. I lost..but I don’t plan on this being my last chance….I do this because I love it..and I do it for my family friends and fans who support me. I was grateful for the honor and this…Is just the beginning. #NeverSayNever"

Still, we must pay attention to the fact that people just don't seem to know who this lady is!

I took to the streets of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ to see if ANYONE knew who this Macy Gray lookalike was.

The answers weren't in her favor...

Popular radio stations have become more familiar with country music this year. Perhaps following this year's Grammy's we'll finally hear less Lady Antebellum and a little more Esperanza.

    If she's lucky.

Bieber won't be bringing this one home to 'Mom'

Just trying to be "One Less Lonely Girl"...
Gossip Girl actress, Taylor Momsen, was in attendance at the premier of Justin Bieber's movie Never Say Never. Dressed in lingerie, the scantily clad Momsen raised eyebrows at the event.

It's difficult to take a 17 year old seriously when she's dressed like this. One might expect such an outfit choice from the likes of Lady Gaga.

This is just the latest in a series of risque behavior by Momsen, following her run as the spokesperson for Madonna's clothing line called Material Girl.  No longer the face of Madonna's line, she has taken on a rebellious image following the birth of her music career with her band, The Pretty Reckless...fitting.

Momsen rose to fame as Jenny Humphrey, the innocent little sister on Gossip Girl. She has come a long way since then. The young star had her first major role in How the Grinch Stole Christmas as Cindy Lou Who.

This get up is a far cry from Whoville...
